FAQ's

Locations
I have a handful of locations that I will suggest based on your style. I like to shoot at beautiful outdoor locations and locations that hold meaning to the client.  If you already have a location in mind then I’ll need the physical address no later than 7 days prior to your session. This is so I can scout it out, plan for lighting, and make mental notes so the session will flow smoothly.

Preparation
It is beneficial to everyone involved if parents keep extra snacks, water, toys, and possible outfits, on hand for their little ones, and most importantly a positive mind-set ;) It also helps to fill out and answer all the questions on the short questionnaire sent upon booking the session. I keep hair spray, bobby pins, lent rollers, tissues, wet wipes, tide to-go pens, and bug spray on hand at every session.

What to Wear?
Here is a link to an amazing list of things to consider when deciding on what to wear for your photo session. We will also discuss this in depth during the consultation. You may also send me pictures and ask for my advice any time prior to your session.

What is the best time of day to photograph?
If you choose an outdoor location, it is best to photograph no later than 2 hours after sunrise, and no earlier than 2 hours before sunset. Although with small children it’s always best to work around their nap schedule so we can insure they will be their happiest self.

What if my children don’t cooperate?
If you have a toddler between the ages of 1-4 then a little resistance and hesitation is going to be expected, but it’s going to be just fine! Shyness, cranky-ness, or crying can sometimes be avoided with a good nap prior to the session. Regardless, I do my best to make the entire process fun. I may ask you to tickle them, toss them in the air, let them ride on dad’s shoulders or turn things into a game. We’ll follow their lead and do what makes them happy and most likely get some great shots!
It’s always beneficial for little ones to eat something prior to the session. Make sure you talk about how much fun the upcoming shoot will be that way they can be looking forward to it!

What about props?
If my clients express an interest in large props such as vintage chairs and couches those things are not included in the final price and will need to be rented through “Rent my Dust” located in the DFW area, or a place similar. http://www.rentmydust.com/
